State-of-the-Art Mobile ICU

A Fully Equipped Modular, Transportable Mobile ICU To Strengthen Critical Care Infrastructure in Hospitals Around the Globe

A shipping container has been modified to create a mobile ICU unit that can accommodate up to 3 ICU beds with medical equipment and essential facilities to tackle the ICU bed limitations faced due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Sri Lanka. The unit can be deployed quickly to remote or underserved areas, providing efficient medical care and relieving pressure on existing medical facilities.

Project Description

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the need for additional ICU beds worldwide, and Sri Lanka is no exception. To help tackle this issue, a 40ft High Cube shipping container has been modified and equipped with an Airlock, Observation room, and an ICU section that can accommodate up to 3 ICU beds along with other essential medical equipment and facilities. Constructed with cleanroom panels that adhere to EU/cGMP standards, this container is intended to provide much-needed assistance to the government of Sri Lanka in its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. This mobile ICU unit is a valuable resource that can be deployed rapidly to areas in need and will help relieve the pressure on existing medical facilities. The construction of this ICU unit in a shipping container is a creative and innovative solution that can provide quick and efficient medical care in remote or underserved areas of Sri Lanka.
