The establishment of an Intravenous (IV) Solution Manufacturing Plant in Sri Lanka is not only a long-awaited initiative but also a crucial one that has been identified as a priority by the Ministry of Health (MOH). The plant will serve the healthcare needs of over 20 million people in Sri Lanka, saving the country considerable amounts of foreign exchange that are currently being spent on importing IV solutions. Moreover, in times of sudden disasters, Sri Lanka will be able to produce large quantities of IV fluids urgently, avoiding the high costs of importing them. This plant will not only provide affordable and quality IV solutions for the local market but will also contribute to the country's economy by creating employment opportunities and reducing the reliance on imports.
